“Yahweh is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the protector of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 26:1/27:1)
Meditatio
Notice the attributes of the Lord mentioned: light, salvation, protector. Meditate on the strength and reassurance these words convey. He illuminates the darkness, delivers from danger, and shields from harm. Absorb the confidence in the psalmist’s rhetorical questions—if the Lord is for us, what can cause fear?
What does it mean that the Lord is my light? Light dispels darkness and reveals the way forward. Reflect on times when God has brought clarity, hope, or guidance into your life. How is the Lord my salvation? Recall the ways He has delivered you—physically, spiritually, or emotionally. His saving hand has been present, even in unseen ways. Do I trust Yahweh as the protector of my life? Consider whether you rely on His protection or allow fear to dominate your heart. Where do you need to let go of fear and trust in His power?
Oratio
“O Lord, You are my light when I am surrounded by darkness, my salvation when I feel trapped, and my protector in the face of all danger. Teach me to trust in Your strength and to cast aside every fear. Let me walk in the light of Your presence, confident that no enemy can prevail against me. Protect me, Lord, and guide me always. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Rest in the assurance of His care, knowing there is nothing to fear.
