Fraternity of Saint Isidore the Farmer

Fraternitas Sancti Isidori Agricolae

Motto: Ora et Aratro Deo Servio — “With prayer and plough I serve God.”

The Fraternity of Saint Isidore the Farmer (S.I.A.) is a dispersed community of clergy and laity who consecrate their ordinary lives—work, prayer, and suffering—to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, following the humble example of Saint Isidore the Farmer, patron of labourers and rural sanctity.

United under obedience to the Patriarch, members live according to a canonical Rule of Life embracing simplicity, charity, and faithful devotion to the Sacred Heart. Each member, whether solitary, elderly, infirm, or living amid family duties, vows obedience, chastity according to state, and poverty of spirit, offering the labour of daily life as an act of reparation and love.

The fraternity’s spiritual rhythm centres upon the Little Office of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, frequent reception of the Holy Eucharist, and the imitation of Saint Isidore’s meek diligence in every form of work. Members are bound together not by cloister but by a stability of heart, living in homes and parishes throughout the world while remaining one in prayer and purpose.

The charism of the Fraternity is to glorify the Sacred Heart through sanctified labour, humble obedience, and steadfast fidelity in the duties of one’s state of life. Its members seek to console the Heart of Jesus, to pray for the Church and the world, and to manifest that holiness may be found even in the smallest act performed in faith and love.

This section of the Holy See’s website serves as the official repository for the documents, constitutions, devotional texts, and authorised publications of the Fraternity of Saint Isidore the Farmer (S.I.A.).
