Lectio
“Shine your face upon your servant. Save me in your mercy.” (Psalm 30:17)

Meditatio
Meditate on the beauty of the Lord’s face shining upon you—a sign of His divine favour, love, and mercy. Just as the sun lights your path and provides warmth, so God’s presence illuminates and protects your life. We yearn for this light, knowing it is only by His mercy that we are saved.

Meditate on how you experience His mercy daily and the ways He rescues you from challenges, struggles, and sin. This light, the presence of God, is made manifest in Christ, who embodies the Heavenly Father’s mercy and who, through His sacrifice, has become our ultimate victory.

Through Christ, we have been lifted from death into life, brought out of the shadows into His marvellous light. In asking God to “shine His face upon us,” we embrace Christ as the radiance of God’s mercy, knowing that His light brings healing, restoration, and life itself.

Oratio
Merciful Lord, I ask You to shine Your face upon me and bring me Your saving light. I place myself in Your hands, depending fully on Your mercy, and I thank You for the light of Christ, who is my victory over sin and death. Help me to live in His radiance, guided by Your presence each day. Lord, let Your mercy lift me from every darkness, that I may stand firm in the light of Your love. Amen.

Contemplatio
Think of God’s face shining upon you, filling you with warmth, peace, and mercy. Allow this light to touch every part of you, embracing all fears, pains, and hopes. Sense the victory of Jesus Christ within, His light transforming your heart and mind, and hold onto the peace that comes from being under God’s gaze.

Actio
Carry the awareness of Christ’s victory and mercy into each day. Whenever you feel burdened, remember this verse and ask God to “shine His face” upon you. Reflect Christ’s light to those around you, especially to those who may need encouragement or compassion. Embrace the peace of God’s mercy, and let it inspire you to bring His light and love to others, testifying to His saving power.

Please pray for peace and safety in the Holy Land. (info)
