“Bring to Yahweh, glory and honour. Bring to Yahweh, glory for his name. Adore Yahweh in his holy court.” (Psalm 28:2)
Meditatio
Meditate on the meaning of giving “glory and honour” to the Lord.
Meditate on how often you pause to truly honour God in your daily life. Do you regularly take time to adore Him in His “holy court,” whether in a place of worship or in the quiet of our hearts?
David emphasises the importance of God’s name—His identity, His reputation, His essence. It is a reminder that Yahweh’s name carries weight and should be held in the highest regard. Meditate on how you speak of and approach God’s name in your prayers, speech, and actions. How can you bring glory to His name in your own life?
Oratio
O Yahweh, I bring to You glory and honour, for You are deserving of all praise. I lift up Your holy name, recognising Your greatness and majesty. Teach me to adore You with reverence and humility, whether I am in Your house of worship or in the quiet of my heart. May my life reflect Your glory, and may my lips always speak with awe of Your holy name. I offer You my heart in adoration, acknowledging that You alone are worthy of all glory and honour.
Contemplatio
Contemplate the greatness of Yahweh. Think of yourself in His holy court, standing in awe before His majesty and holiness. Feel the weight of His glory and the depth of His power. Allow yourself to be filled with reverence as you meditate on the greatness of the Lord. Let your heart dwell on the truth that He deserves all honour, all worship, and all praise.
Actio
Make a conscious effort to bring glory to Yahweh’s name in your words and actions. Reflect on how you can honour God in your daily life—whether in the way you speak, in your work, or in how you treat others. Set aside time each day to enter into a moment of personal worship, whether through prayer, song, or quiet reflection, lifting up the name of Yahweh in your heart. If possible, visit a place of worship, and spend time in adoration before God, allowing His majesty to fill you with awe and reverence.
