Passage: “The Lord is just, and hath loved justice: his countenance hath beheld righteousness.” (Psalm 10:8)

Meditatio

  • Divine Justice: The verse begins with a clear declaration that the Lord is just. Meditate on the perfect justice of God, who is the ultimate standard of righteousness. Consider how God’s justice is not like human justice, which can be flawed or biased, but is always fair, pure, and unchanging.
  • Love for Justice: The passage highlights that God loves justice. This reveals God’s deep commitment to what is right and just. Meditate on how God’s love for justice is intertwined with His very nature. Consider what it means that God not only acts justly but takes pleasure in justice being done.
  • God’s Gaze upon Righteousness: The verse concludes by saying that God’s countenance has beheld righteousness. Meditate on the idea that God’s gaze is upon those who live righteously. He sees and approves of their actions. Meditate how this speaks to God’s intimate involvement in the lives of the just and His delight in their righteousness.

Oratio

O Lord, You are just, and Your love for justice is beyond measure. I praise You for Your perfect righteousness, which guides all Your ways. Help me to align my life with Your justice, to love what is right and true as You do. May my actions and my heart reflect Your righteousness, and may I always seek to live in a manner pleasing to You. Guide me, Lord, to uphold justice in my own life, and give me the courage to stand for what is right, even when it is difficult. Amen.

Contemplatio
